Good points

• The price is usually much more reasonable than its sister, the 985 Audio trainer
• A lot of built-in workout programs available and if you get bored of those, you can plug in iFit cards for even more workouts
• Lots of bells and whistles like air fans, spacesaver technology, and of course, a music port for your iPod player as is expected for all Audio trainer treadmills

Bad points

• warranty of the 980 audio trainer is inferior to the 985
• motor is much weaker than the Audio 985 treadmill
• does not come with a wireless heart rate monitor

• Update Feb 6th/2010: The Proform 980 is currently selling for the closeout price of $749 which is one of the lowest prices we've seen ever for this model. However, as it's a closeout model, you would no doubt be aware that it's not the newest model on the market today. For price conscious buyers, this is a decent entry level choice for your home.
• If you can't wait for the Proform 985 Audio trainer to go on sale, consider the Proform 980 Audio trainer treadmill. At a price point of around $700-$800, this would be an excellent choice
• This treadmill's main selling point is the built in audio capabilities and though it does contain most of the extras you would find in a Proform treadmill, it might be a little lacking in the quality compartment relatively.
