Nordictrack T5.5 Treadmill Review

Lowest Price

GET THE Nordictrack T5.5 FOR $599

Good Points

  • If you think it costs an arm and a leg to buy a semi decent treadmill, you might be surprised that the Nordictrack T5.5 can sell for as low as $599 during promotional periods
  • 325 weight capacity is considered quite high for a treadmill around the $600 price mark (we would recommend  users up to 275 lbs use this treadmill to be on the conservative side)
  • 20 workout programs is a decent number and would rival many treadmills from competing brands that are $1000 or more
  • Compatible with iFit Live so if you’re willing to invest another $100, you can experience this new technology from Nordictrack

Bad Points

  • Warranty is only average at 1 year parts and labor
  • With a short product warranty and an undisclosed product weight, it would be difficult for us to recommend this treadmill to users unless they only intend on doing light to moderating training

Verdict

It’s not necessary to invest a whole lot of money on a treadmill if you plan mainly to walk or jog. In fact, if your current situation doesn’t allow you to spend a lot of money yet you desperately need a treadmill, the Nordictrack T5.5 is one machine you could consider if you’re not a heavy or intensive user. Like we stated above, the 325 lb weight capacity is quite impressive for this price but we have doubts as to how well it can live up to its claim which is why we don’t recommend this treadmill for serious users.

Though the Nordictrack T5.5 may not sport a whole lot of features like its “big brothers”, you should know that maybe just 4 or 5 years ago, the T5.5 would easily match treadmills that are in the price $1000-$1500 in terms of features. This just shows you how much Nordictrack has improved in the last few years in this department.

Overall, $600 is a pretty decent price and it’s unlikely Nordictrack will lower the price on this one. Even at $700, it’s still a pretty good deal but if the price is increased to $800 or more when you read this, we would lay back on this one and go with something else.

Isn't it very impractical to spend over hundreds of dollars on a fully-loaded treadmill when you don't even need all the features that it has in the first place? Be a smart shopper and just go with the basics. Meaning, you need to know what you need and you have to buy a treadmill that can target those needs. This is what the Nordictrack T5.5 is -- very basic but enough to address your fitness needs.

It's amazing that the Nordictrack T5.5 can sometimes cost as low as $700 in some areas. If you are think that it is cheap because it's poorly made, you are wrong. Here's the thing, NordicTrack wanted to give entry-level users the best of the basics, and thus a low-cost yet complete unit -- the Nordictrack T5.5 treadmill.

This basic treadmill machine runs on a 2.8 HP motor. Small? Not really, it's big enough to carry a 325 lb. user. It might be a folding treadmill but the Nordictrack T5.5 has a spacious 20 inch x 50 inch running belt.

Space is also never an issue with the Nordictrack T5.5. With its very simple folding mechanism, fold and stow away the machine conveniently. No need to worry about the frame as well because it comes with a lifetime waaranty.

Would you believe that for a treadmill of this price, you even get an iFit card reader on it? Yes, the Nordictrack T5.5 supports iFit cards so you can use those downloaded Jillian Michaels programs on the machine too. Now isn't that amazing for a basic treadmill unit?

The Nordictrack T5.5 treadmill might be priced lower than other units in the market, but then it's jam-packed with the basics and more. It's ideal for multi-users who really need nothing more than the fundamentals. Don't spend hundreds of dollars of features that you can't even use or need, just go with the basics like the Nordictrack T5.5. Now that's a smart move, right?
