Good points

• longest standard parts warranty we've seen Nordictrack offer on any treadmill at 3 years
• uses one of the most powerful motors that Nordictrack has
• one of the few treadmills with a wireless heart rate monitor (which integrates nicely with the wireless heart rate training programs)
• probably the best machine in terms of durability available at the moment (Jan 2010) from Nordictrack

Bad points

• diabolically expensive even when it's on sale!
• for such a pricey treadmill, it should have iFit Live (though it does come with a TV)

Comments

• For a TV treadmill, you certainly don't need to pay well over $2000 for one. In fact, when you can get a 32" TV for something like $500 at Best Buy, you kind of wonder why you need a treadmill with a TV at all. Which brings us to the question of why spend almost $3000 for a home treadmill? The answer we think is quality. If we had to pick the treadmill that's most likely to last the longest, this would probably be it. However, you can literally buy TWO other treadmills by Nordictrack deemed "Commercial" such as the Commercial 1500 for the price of one Professional Series 4000. But it's more than likely that the Nordictrack Professional Series 400 would offer a superior running surface. Nonetheless, at almost $3000, you might as well go with a true Commercial brand instead. At less than $2000, we would take a second look but that probably won't happen in 2010. Also note that this treadmill has been around for a while so might as well pick one of the newer models.
